Friday 8th December was filled with a bunch of excitement and anticipation as we held our 4th Oxfordshire SOUP at Monument Park, courtesy of our hosts and sponsors, Jennings.
Despite some nerves, the 4 businesses pitching did extremely well and the votes we close. Once again, the group and sponsors were AMAZING and they raised even more catch on the day to help a new business, taking the prize fund to over £2000! This would mean that our winner would be able to apply for matched funding through Oxfordshire Business Support – and could then obtain a minimum of £3000 for their business.
None of our finalists went away empty handed however, they networked their butts off and make some great contacts. All finalists will also received a mentoring session by one of the SOUPER 3 (Flo, Tony or Richard) plus a supporting pack containing insight into starting your own business, from some experienced entrepreneurs.
Following an excellent pitch, the winner was announced by Cllr Rob Simister. Congratulations to Eisha from PronounceMe, a start-up designed to help non-native speakers of English learn correct pronounciation
We are delighted by the excitement and enthusiasm Oxfordshire Soup has generated allowing us to continue to deliver exceptional crowdfunding events for the Oxfordshire community.
giving another start-up the opportunity to walk away with great exposure, a support package and approx £1000 (the more tickets we sell, the higher the prize fund).
